Introduction
We get it. Everyone hates spam! Email providers, such as Google and Microsoft Outlook, and corporate mail settings, can make it difficult for transactional email to "arrive." Sometimes it's in the Promotions or Updates tab or worse in Spam. We endeavor to ensure our email reputation is high to maximize deliverability.
What is Transactional Email?
Transactional emails refer to automated emails triggered by a user's engagement with a web application. They are "transactional" because they are facilitating pre-agreed transactions or providing updates on ongoing transactions. Examples of such emails include account signups, password changes, signing notifications and more. Within UnicornForms, that typically means you are sending a document for someone else to sign.
These emails typically deliver information that users actively seek, resulting in higher open rates compared to other email categories, such as marketing. Given the desirability of transactional emails, it's crucial to ensure their consistent delivery to customers' inboxes.
What if the email is not delivered?
We monitor all of our email deliverability metrics regularly and currently have a 99% success rate. The 1% of emails that are not delivered are due to incorrect email address or typos. We track when an email was sent, when it was received by the mail server and when it was clicked on.
There are times when your end user does not see the email. Please check the following:
- Confirm you entered the correct email address
- Ask your client to check their Promotions or Updates tab (it's usually here)
- Ask your client if they have extra security or rules on their inbox that may route the email somewhere
- Worst case: Ask if it's in their spam box
Please note, it's not just us! Every company has challenges with transactional email, including our competitors.
If you have a question, we can check up to 30 Days of email notifications in our logs. Please create a support ticket in the chatbox or email us if you would like us to look.
The best case scenario is to send a Share Link. Please see our helpful article.
Can I use my email address or domain?
Yes! We have tiers that allow for white labeled email notifications. It will require a SendGrid account. Please contact us if you would like to email your clients from your own domain.
